CityGroup’s Grounds Maintenance Division is expanding, and we’re looking to recruit three experienced Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping Operatives to join our growing team.
Based from our Preston Depot, you’ll be working on a variety of commercial and managed sites across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Liverpool, delivering high-quality grounds maintenance and landscaping services as part of a supportive, professional and friendly workforce.

The Roles
As a Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping Operative, your important role will include a wide range of tasks, such as:
Grass cutting and strimming
Hedge trimming and pruning
Litter picking and site presentation
Weed control and general maintenance
Planting and landscaping support
Soft landscaping and seasonal works
Working to schedules across multiple sites
Using professional grounds maintenance equipment safely and correctly
Maintaining a very high standard of workmanship and delivering great customer service
This is a hands-on role which is suited to someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in a tidy finish, and understands the importance of professionalism when working on customer sites.
Working Hours & Location
Monday to Friday
8:00am – 4:00pm
Based out of our Preston Depot
Covering sites across:
Lancashire
Greater Manchester
Liverpool
Pay & Winter Gritting
We offer very competitive hourly rates based on experience:
£12.71 per hour
£13.25 per hour (for more experienced operatives)
In addition, we offer excellent rates for winter works:
£30.00 per hour for winter gritting – £300 per shift
This is a great opportunity for operatives who want consistent full-time work with the chance to earn additional income during winter.

What We’re Looking For
We’re ideally looking for applicants who have:
Experience in grounds maintenance and/or landscaping
A strong work ethic and attention to detail
A professional and reliable attitude
Confidence using grounds maintenance equipment
The ability to work as part of a team and independently
A full UK driving licence (preferred)
Experience of driving tractors
